I grew up in Billings, MT and come from a long line of bakers. My grandfather, my two uncles, and my dad were all bakers at some point in their lives. We have had a total of six bakeries in my family!
At an early age, baking was an integral part of my life. I received an Easy-Bake Oven as a Christmas present, which started it all! Even in college, once I discovered the kitchen on the first floor of Roskie Hall, the chocolate chip cookie baking for my friends began!
I met and married a baker in 1991. We owned and operated Heiko's Bakery in University Place, WA for four years before we moved back to Billings in 2006. Then in 2007 we opened another Heiko's Bakery in Billings. Heiko and I divorced in 2020 and sold the business. I had the most difficult time signing the papers to sell the bakery. It had been such a huge part of my life, and I had truly poured my heart and soul into it.
The last six years have brought on a lot of changes for me. I have been relying on baking and counseling to navigate! I have been dropping random treats off on my friends' porches a lot! Once I discovered that I could create a home bakery, it was an easy decision to make. I have missed our customers so much, and what a great way to see them again and hopefully make some new ones!
Everyone has been so encouraging, from family, friends, counselors, co-workers, and former business associates. I am so excited to start this journey and hope my delicious baked goods will be enjoyed by lots of people in Billings once again. But to my friends and family, don't worry, I will still need taste testers, so the porch deliveries will continue!
